Howdy there, I’m Reece.

It’s nice to see you around these parts.

Reece Paten is an American illustrator rooted in the traditions of folk art, history, and connection. Working from her home studio in Savannah, GA, she graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Reece's creative practice is a gathering of stories—familial, historical, and personal. Her work seeks to capture the essence of experience, portraying the passage of time and the texture of memory. She combines realism with collage and symbolism, creating layered illustrations that evoke both nostalgia and curiosity. Collaging is central to her process, a method of collecting and piecing together fragments that speak to a larger narrative.

In addition to illustration, Reece is a dedicated printmaker, exploring techniques such as linocut, intaglio, and etching. These tactile processes further her exploration of materiality and storytelling.

Beyond the studio, Reece finds inspiration in the rhythm of a good song, the ritual of coffee, the well-worn character of cowboy boots, and the quiet reflection of hiking and yoga. Travel informs her perspective, adding depth to her understanding of place and connection.

Ultimately, Reece's work is about honoring experience—aging it, collecting it, and translating it into visual stories that invite reflection and resonance.
